Recover Like a Boss B****

Full Body/Toes to Top Workshop for Boss B**ches

Bring your beautiful body to learn how to take better care of it- from the ground up!

2-2.5 hours to go from toes to top in detail and with time to break down and assist in any questions or modifications that may arise.

This practice is for all practitioners and all levels. (The ability to be able to get up and down from the floor several times through the class is ideal).

Starting with some basic teachings of movement anatomy, fascia/tissue/ joint recovery work and its importance for human body optimal functioning; and moving into breathing techniques to bolster the results of the therapy ball work, each student will receive tools to use on the mat to create overall release and relief.

Three sizes of therapy balls will be included for use (and offered for sale after class for anyone interested). Beginning at the bottoms of the feet where there are many acupressure points, working up the legs and into the hips, belly, entire back, arms, neck/shoulders and head, these offering covers all the main parts and pieces of typical complaint in regard to tightness, overworking, soreness, and generalized pain and dysfunction.

Some basic yoga poses and stretching will accompany the self-massage techniques to further the awareness and feel-good nature of this work.

Clothing that fits closely to the body is ideal for therapy balls to keep from tangling up, and long hair should be able to be put up for the upper body portion of the workshop.

Positive effects of this work:

Less pain

Fewer injuries

Gained recovery practice tools

Ease of movement

Corrected dysfunctional patterns

Better sleep

Better mood

Sense of empowerment to self-treat and understand one’s own body more clearly

Nervous system regulation

Come join me for a few hours that will change your life and specifically your body and its ability to thrive! Recovery work is essential for longevity of movement, most specifically athletic/challenging movement practices where the body is pushed into higher demands and injuries can happen.

An additional worksheet on ways to boost recovery will be made available to anyone interested at no cost.

Acupuncture Yoga DETOX Workshop

 Happy fall to all!

We sincerely hope you are taking in the gorgeous last bit of summer AND enjoying the gorgeous transition to fall here in the PNW. Fall is a time to begin to come back down to earth- to begin to transition away from our previous seasonal state of energetic adventure and heat- we are ready to be calmer, more centered and much more grounded.

Our next offering will focus on grounding for your entire being-

 *Beginning with the physical aspects of grounding we will move into yoga poses and breathing techniques which bolster the functions which aim to literally calm, center and downregulate our nervous systems. This is a physical practice suitable for all levels. {given you are able to get up and down from the floor.}

*Adding onto the practice we will tune into to the deeper layers of ourSELVES and create a mantra around the theme of connecting to earth, our own inner peace. and allowing the seasonal transition to occur without resistance to the nature occurring all around and within us.

*To further the sensory experience light aromatherapy for grounding will be flowing throughout the practice.

*All of this will lead to you winding down with ease into a supported restorative shavasana, during which you will receive hands- on massage adjustments, and an acupuncture (*or acupressure) treatment from licensed acupuncturist Tara Cameron.

It is incredible mind, body, and spirit medicine when all of these healing practices are incorporated together in one practice. Acupuncture is something so powerful when used as a stand-alone treatment- and the benefits extend far beyond when your body is primed and ready to receive.

The space-Sangha Yoga in Seattle is an energetic AND physical breath of fresh air, it is truly a space to feel safe, supported and free to be yourself.

To support our well-being in such  and profound ways is a gift we all should be doing self care like this more regularly. Here is your chance to jumpstart your fall/winter wellness regimen!

Investment: $75

Looking forward to sharing this unique gift with you!

Myofascial Release For Overall Self Care: Autumn

Myofascial Release For Overall Self Care: Autumn

Bring your body in for a tune up! Two hours of time well spent- learn techniques to unravel your tensions, ease your aches and pains, and better understand patterns and functions of your tissues.

Fascia is the layer of tissue which wraps around every muscle, joint, ligament, and organ of the body. It s a dynamic, intelligent and absolutely detrimental to movement of all types. The 'myofascial' layer is the deepest layer of the fascia, and often where adhesions, stickiness, and dysfunction resides.

In this workshop we will be using Yoga Tune Up Therapy balls to "roll out" the deep fascia and other above mentioned tissues, and you will learn how to use this life-changing practice regularly to maintain your body's optimal state of being. This is not unlike a deep-tissue massage-that you get to control all aspects of!

There will be a strong focus on the seasonal aspects and impacts of Autumn as well as breathwork, meditation, and specified yoga asana to compliment therapy ball work.

Therapy balls available for purchase for $15 at workshop.

The RETREATment: Acupuncture and Yoga For Chronic Pain

The ultimate combination of yoga, ancient healing Chinese medicine acupuncture (acupressure available if preferred), breathwork, meditation, education and rest.

This workshop is designed to address your aches and pains through movements, stretches and energy work. Yoga poses suitable for beginner level yoga practitioners who are able to get up and down for the ground several times within the two hour space of the class.

Starting with a slower flowing, yin-natured and restorative yoga practice, you will stretch and breathe your way into a more softened and relaxed body. The end of the practice will bring you to shavasana using all the soft blankets, bolsters and other goodies to ensure that you are in a very blissed out state. Acupuncture (or acupressure) will then be offered. Your ability to adapt and open to the healing powers of this treatment increases tenfold when you have been adequately primed for it!

We all feel pain from time to time, however chronic pain is becoming something more and more prevalent due to rising stress levels, environmental factors, and technology induced sympathetic brain overdrive states.

Students and patients with chronic pain issues will learn techniques and receive treatment to bolster the healing response and balance the central nervous system's response to pain.

Come and relax your body and mind, and allow us to offer you this medicine for the soul.

Summer Tune Up With Therapy Balls

This workshop will be a fun, dynamic and open space to explore and tune up for summer!

Beginning with therapy ball work, we will roll and release, and become aware of key muscle groups and tissues and their functions. Key areas of focus will be: hips, trunk, shoulders and chest.

Next we will utilize these key areas in different movements to create more flow, flexibility and strength. Sequencing will alternate between a gentle flow, static strength building standing poses, deep stretching; and circling back to use of therapy balls for proprioception (body awareness) and further release.

Leave feeling educated and more in tune with the rhythms flowing through your body, and a refreshed sense of calmness and grounding. Discovering how to move better, and create better mobility, self-care and overall awareness is a game changer, especially during summertime, when we are moving more then ever!

Whether you are a runner, busy mama, avid outdoor adventurist- or in need of some respite and lightness from a desk job, or too much sitting in the car or at your desk- YOU will benefit from this.

Take the time out to give yourself a gift you can continue to give yourself long after the lesson is over.

All levels welcome with the basic ability to move from the floor and back up without issue.

Therapy balls available for $15/set during workshop.
